sleep apnea causing damaging effects on the body

Introduction:

Sleep apnea is a serious damaging disorder. It happens when your breathing stops and starts repeatedly when you slumber. If it is ignored then it will cause loud snoring, daytime tiredness, heart problem, stroke, heart trouble or high blood pressure. This condition is very much different from that of primary snoring.

Primary snoring is different from sleep apnea conditions. It is caused by disturbed sleep patterns, nose or throat conditions, being overweight, high dose of alcohol, older age or other depressants.

In sleep apnea the snoring is strictly related to the tissues in the back of the throat vibrating. People usually snore much louder than those with regular snoring. Breathing will stop sometimes for a while. Sometimes shallow breathing , gasping or choking may occur. When these conditions prevail, patients may feel restless  even if they sleep the whole night. At day time feeling clumsy and lazy.

  • Types of sleep apnea
  • There are majorly three types of sleep apnea . These are
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Central sleep apnea
  • Complex sleep apnea
  • Obstructive sleep apnea

It is the most common type. It mostly occurs when there is more functional obstruction in the nose and throat. It will lead to snoring as the tongue and soft palate rattles. This will lead to stopping of the breath  which leads the individual to feel like he is awake. Sometimes the body wants to breathe and has a sensation of breathing but the upper passageway cannot. Enough breathing air in the passage.

Central sleep apnea

It also causes sleep disorder but it doesn’t cause the obstruction of the upper passage way rather sleep apnea is caused by neurological disorders. In this the body doesn’t try to breathe so there will be no snoring . The brain and the central nervous system is not giving any signs to the breathing system so breathing and respiration ultimately stops. The symptoms may be shortness of breath, sleepiness, day time sleep , insomnia, and feeling panicky.

Complex sleep apnea

It is a syndrome in which there are a collection of symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea. It Becomes apparent when the apnea does not resolve with a typical machine or obstructive sleep apnea treatment. The symptoms include day time sickness, fatigue, confusion, headache, dry mouth and insomnia. The positive air pressure modes can be the ultimate treatment of these types of sleep apnea .
